Jonathan Bullington has published a very well-written follow up article in the Chicago Tribune concerning the issue of judges not being educated in how to handle sex crimes. As we still await any formal verdict back from the Illinois Courts Commission, it was so meaningful to us for the conversation to continue in the meantime. Because in this life, that is how much of our time is spent - it's waiting for a thing to happen; it's hoping for the day when; it's planning and praying in between the big moments; it's all the little moments that end up shaping who we are and what we think is possible.

Sometimes when it's unclear what to say... when it's painful to say... when we're afraid and when others have said it's no good, or we should just stay quiet - then we fall silent. And it's sometimes in that silence that it's forgotten a voice called out of the wilderness at all.

The overwhelming gratitude and thanks that we have expressed over the past two years has been genuine in every ounce. To be heard. To be heard. That one young woman, a child, stood up and used her voice to demand change - and the return was a chorus of voices who said they were willing to listen, and fight.

I can't not be overwhelmed myself.

Thank you all eternally and always for the outpouring of love and support for Cammy, and for our community, and for all survivors. Hopefully it isn't too redundant to say thank you again and again; there aren't words to express these intangible feelings of hope and gratefulness. The idea that we could actually make a difference and make a change is a fight we believe is worth fighting. Having you on our side gave us the strength to not give up when they told us we lost; you helped us keep looking for answers when our judiciary said the misinformation they were feeding us was the end of the line; you helped us push the envelope directly into the hands of Michael Deno at the Judicial Inquiry Board - and no thanks will ever be enough for the inspiration and encouragement you've lent us.

Incidentally, Judge Robert K Adrian was just removed from a felony sex crime case involving a minor at the request of the Adams County State's Attorney's office. We will keep you posted about the Illinois Courts Commission's ruling.

Keep the faith that someone will hear you. Keep speaking up for things that matter. Thank you.
