Over 1,000 Strong!

Goodness me, this is all a bit overwhelming: over 1,000 signatures now and there seems to be little let up in interest in this campaign. The drive to let our local children attend the brand-new Inner Sydney High School is gathering a huge pace now.

"I am signing this petition as a teacher who believes in the importance of building a sense of community for local families around the nearest school," says a grandmother of local kids.  "And for my grandsons who live close to this new school to continue their friendship networks built up since birth in that area."

Newtown Greens MP Jenny Leong and Councillor Jess Miller are holding a community meeting on the school's boundary on March 3, which I would encourage all to go. Jenny Leong has also secured coverage on this issue in today's Daily Telegraph.
