The gaps in services created by inappropriate support for children with special needs is an assault on human rights. Parents and our allies are working hard to challenge the inequities in the system.
My daughter has equitable access to an education because we filed a Human Rights complaint on her behalf. It pains me that a year later another family is forced to engage in the same battle for the same reason. This time, however, the remedy being sought is securing systemic changes for a permanent solution.
As our community advocacy turns into united activism, I have hope that our education system will restructure to make the changes needed to be truly inclusive.
In the meantime, 4000 supporters of this petition is an amazing statement of support. Please also consider supporting the GoFundMe for the Human Rights challenge as well.

Finally, Thank you! Constitutional obligations aside, it is heart-breaking to observe the discrepancy in our children's treatment and 4000 of us have now said that BC schools should do better.
