The Metrogate Community is a large, enclosed community located in Scarborough-Agincourt, consisting of seven large condominium communities along with the townhome community with three more towers being developed.The community consists of largely immigrant families and elderly. It is surrounded by the CP Rail to the north, GO Train to the east, 401 to the south and only one opening to the west towards Kennedy.

We have a school bus that picks up and drops off children, and a TTC bus that runs during the peak hours from Monday - Friday. Due to the growth in population and increased construction for further developments, there have been issues regarding road safety. Speeding and not following road safety laws (eg stopping for a school bus) have been longstanding issues of concern. 

We are asking that the City of Toronto install a crosswalk and/or speedbumps along Village Green Sq. from Solaris to Metrogate Park, Avani to Metrogate Park, and Ventus to Metrogate Park. As well as, installing stop signs around the square and either more street lights or brighter lights. 

This will help ensure the safety of our children, elderly and residents. Along with ensuring that drivers and pedestrians act responsibly and prevent accidents from occurring.
