Upgrade King Creek Rd Oxley Hwy Intersection

Upgrade King Creek Rd Oxley Hwy Intersection
Why this petition matters
The King Creek and Oxley Highway intersection is NOT SAFE!
The main concerns are the lack of visibility on the left hand side when turning onto the Oxley Highway and people adding to this by making illegal left hand turns, thereby obstructing the view of those waiting to turn right. Both are serious issues.
Firstly, the very least a formal traffic study needs to be conducted at this intersection to review safety.
Secondly, there needs to be two turning lanes on King Creek Road so there is not a lineup of cars, trucks and buses, queued up in one lane trying to go either left or right. Cars illegally drive up the left hand shoulder of the road 200-300m before the intersection and even cut through Vickers Fudge carpark to get past the stopped traffic if they are turning left.
A local man willingly mowed the shoulder of the Oxley Highway to make it safer for cars to see oncoming traffic, as the RMS said it would take 3-6 months for the grass to be mowed (Thank you to Peter). This simply isn't good enough RMS.
The Oxley Highway is a RMS road. King Creek Road is a Port Macquarie Hastings Council Road, although the council only has the power to upgrade King Creek Road they do have the power to speak to the RMS on behalf of the local community about the Oxley Highway. The council has a duty of care to the residents and as the population grows infrastructure needs to be upgraded.
