Petioners,

We are hoping that the Supervisors pass the new 927 ordinance at their meeting this Tuesday, Nov 7 but in order to help ensure it's passage we need your help. Specifically, please email the supervisors no later than Monday morning November 6th. Here are the addresses:.  TLMA-STR@rivco.org, district1@rivco.org, district2@rivco.org, district3@rivco.org, district4@rivco.org, district5@rivco.org.  Our supervisor is Supervisor Perez, District 4.  If inclined, he alone is able to protect STR limits offered in 927.2 for greater Idyllwild.  

-Call in.  You can request to call or zoom into the meeting at  https://rivcocob.org/request-to-speak  Agenda item 21-2.  Fill out the form before 9am Monday morning (24 hours prior).  You will receive call-in instructions by email.  They usually give us 2 minutes to speak.  

-Attend and speak.  We always have a nice group there.  It is a beautiful hall.  Try to be seated by 9:30am.  Around 10am they start asking us to come up and speak.  Then go run your offhill errands :).  Address and instructions are below.  

Write or speak from your heart.  Below are some items we have been collectively pushing for.  They are not perfect but they are points that we believe have a chance of being included.  

-Primarily:  We are hoping for quick passage of the 927.2 draft.  
(The draft ordinance is not perfect but we are concerned that the longer it takes to pass, the less protections will be left in it.  This happened with 927.1.)

If there are going to be changes, we request:

-Cap and Density.  As our town voted for a 10% Cap (about 350) and density limit of 300 feet.  
-Lottery.  Only when under the cap!  A Lottery priority for commercial zones.  
-Insurance requirement.  Insurance that covers STR rentals should be required.  Protect guests and residents.
-Inside safety inspection.  Protect guests and residents.
-Non-county roads.  No more certifications on non-county roads.  Steep, twisty roads that residents maintain.  
-Outdoor fires and sound.  Outdoors, covered gas fires only.  Outdoors, no amplified sound.
