Petioners, it appears from the the RivCo County Supervisor STR hearing in July that Idyllwild has a real opportunity to demand that all STR's in the 92549 zip code be "HOME HOSTED ONLY". This means that those who wish to rent their homes in our neighborhoods on a short term basis must either be present on site themselves or have a "responsible party'' such as a family member or management company employee on site during the short term stay.
A 45 DAY MORATORIUM ON APPROVING ANY NEW STR'S WILL ALSO BE DISCUSSED AT TOMORROW'S SUPERVISOR MEETING WHICH WILL REQUIRE 4 OUT THE 5 SUPERVISORS TO VOTE "YES".
The HOME HOSTING requirement would obviously solve many of the negative impacts we have been experiencing such as excessive noise, late night partying, trash, on street parking, etc. The 45 DAY MORATORIUM will at least put the breaks on any new STR's for the time being .
Our current Supervisor Chuck Washington is open to both ideas but we need to let the other Supervisors whose districts do not have many STR's know how we feel. Therefore, PLEASE SEND AN EMAIL TO THE FOLLOWING RIVCO STAFF MEMBERS (ONE EMAIL TO ALL IS FINE) ASKING THAT ORDINANCE 927.1 REQUIRE ALL STR'S IN THE 92549 ZIP CODE BE HOME HOSTED:
District 1, Jeff Greene - JTGreene@RIVCO.ORG (951)955-1017
District 2, Phil Paule - PPaule@Rivco.org (951)955-1021,
