UPDATE 9/15/22

Hello Riverdale Residents,

On Tuesday 9/20/22 7pm the Riverdale Board will approve the Health Curriculum for our school.  Currently there are 93 signatures on this petition.  Will you please sign and share so that Riverdale knows how you stand?  If you don't currently have kids in this school, maybe one day you will have grandchildren here.  If more people sign and show how they feel, this can have an impact on the the Curriculum.

The Board has stated they have never adopted the 2020 NJSLS Comprehensive Health Curriculum, yet in 8th grade, to my knowledge Sexting will be one whole day, one whole day on sexual abuse and one whole day on gender. Three days on these topics?

Will you be at the meeting to ask questions?  What will be included in each grade level?  How will it be taught (video/pictures/handouts/discussions?)  How and when will parents have access to the curriculum?  If you opt out, where will your child go during the lesson?  Will there be notice given if you'd like to pull your child that day or period?  Can it be an opt in instead of an opt out?  Why can't we adopt the same resolution that Garwood did and reject the curriculum?

Your voice always matters.

God Bless,

Lisa Ferrara

UPDATE 6/14/22

Hello Riverdale,

At the 6/14 Board Meeting (https://rumble.com/v18jp8r-riverdale-nj-boe-meeting-61422-13.html) the Board has said that they do not intend to teach this but that does not stop NJ legislature and other governing entities from imposing ideology and sexual content in an inappropriate way in our Schools.  We need more signatures on a town level, not just the parents with children in the Public School.  If you already have signed, Thank you!  Can you please continue to raise awareness and pass this on so we can protect our children? If not you, then who?

God Bless,

Lisa Ferrara
