Dear Concerned Citizens,
The outpouring of support for River Forest District 90 Kids receiving in person instruction has been phenomenal. Thank you! In just a few short days over four hundred (and growing) parents and community members have said kids matter most, there is belief River Forest Schools can safely return to in person instruction, and District 90 Board of Education, you have our support to bring the kids back. Later today, the petition will be delivered to D90 BOE, Superintendent and RFEA teachers union representatives asking to discuss the topic and bring it to a vote.
Some are enthusiastic and looking for more ways to help. Here’s what you can do:
1. Thursday December 10th is the next point at which the Superintendent and Board President determine if the adaptive pause shall continue. You’re urged to send an email before this Thursday (12/10) to both Ed Condon (condone@district90.org) and Rich Moore (MooreR@district90.org) sharing your experience with remote learning and asking them to end the adaptive pause.
2. On Monday December 14th there will be peaceful ‘Rally for Re-Opening’ beginning at approximately 3:00pm. This is a safe, peaceful rally that has been organized with assistance to that end from RFPD. Join the caravan of cars at Lincoln Elementary / Administration building and circle the route to show your support.
3. The next D90 BOE meeting is 7:00pm on December 14th. Please send an email to Communications Director Dawne Simmons (SimmonsD@district90.org) before 5pm using “Public Comment 12/14)” in the subject line. Share your concerns and urge the board to disconnect from the dashboard and implement plans for in-person instruction.
Thanks again for all the positive support for River Forest Kids
