I'm Collette and I own Hairven, a hair salon in Nottingham. Cancellations, sickness and staff shortages are rife because of rising coronavirus cases. But the Government aren't offering us any support. I have started this petition asking the government to either re-introduce flexible furlough or introduce a work placed salary support scheme URGENTLY and at least until March 2022, to protect our businesses and livelihoods from the massive strain the pandemic places on our industries.

I am asking the government to re-introduce flexible furlough or a salary support scheme to March 2022, for the worst hit sectors such as hospitality, hair, barbering beauty and travel, due to the increase in cases of the Omicron variant. 

The Job Retention Scheme ended on September 30th 2021 which as we all know has created another "cliff-edge" for many businesses.

The pandemic is not over and we are now in yet another wave due to the rise in Omicron variant Covid cases. Businesses are being constantly impacted and the worst-impacted sectors still face huge disruption due to Covid cases remaining high. 

If the Government does not extend the furlough scheme for the sectors most impacted, we will see the death of our high street: restaurants, pubs, salons to name a few.

So please help us to protect our workers. Boris Johnson said “We will do whatever it takes. Back your workers and we will back you” So please stand by your word and extend furlough until March 2022.
