Dear Supporters
There has been a lot of media coverage recently around the successful high court appeal in a case were a family court judge was dismissive about rape allegations. In his ruling, the Judge said because the woman "was not in any sense pinned down", she "could easily, physically, have made life harder" for the man - and it "did not constitute rape".
Today, a letter was issued to the Head of the Family Court Division and the Justice Minister via The Victoria Derbyshire Show. It was signed by over 130 professionals including lawyers, victim advocates and victim support organisations and says attitudes such as those expressed by the judge "leave children and women at risk of serious harm".

Here is another dismissive retired Judge, seemingly shrugging serious issues off of as inevitable human failings. No! as our petition supporters have told us, there are systemic and chronic failings that the Judiciary appear to be refusing to acknowledge!: https://twitter.com/VictoriaLIVE/status/1230076820621582336?s=20
The Victoria Derbyshire Show has blazed the trail on exposing the issues around domestic abuse and the Family Courts. Recently the BBC announced that it planned to axe the Victoria Derbyshire Show. Please sign this petition asking the BBC to reconsider that decision: https://www.change.org/p/bbc-stop-the-victoria-derbyshire-show-being-axed-victorialive
We will keep you posted!
Much love,
