The fictional character Skye, from the video game Valorant by Riot Games is an inaccurate representation of the Australian accent. The accent is offensive, annoying and culturally wrong. It is a stereotype of a bygone era. Skye's accent is an Americanised Australian accent based off an outdated and dramatised accent from crocodile dundee. The accent is 2-3 generations out of date and not even accurate to the time it is based off of.

I call for the accent to be redone to a more accurate version of the current version Australian Accent. Skye's voice lines are too inaccurate towards our culture. For example "Remember everyone, if we survive, woodworking class tonight in the mess hall. Nimble hands, nimble minds..." we don't have woodworking classes every night. It is a subject everyone did at school and never touched again. This is an example of Riot Games misinterpreting our way of life. This is just one of the many examples of this happening, not only in Valorant, but in most movies, games and TV shows. Furthermore Australia is a big place, slang and accent change from state to territory. Generalizing our accent and values will result in another failed imitation of our accent and heritage. 

In conclusion, Skye's "Australian" Accent and voice lines are offensive and annoying and need to be changed to a less dramatised version of the accent, as it is insulting to the Australian culture. The current accent and voice lines do not a sense are not accurate in anyway, shape or form. Get an Australian to create the voice lines and approve of accent so it is representative of us, and the country it come from. Riot Games, show the world that you can get our accent and culture correct and not just another failed attempt.
