I am writing this as a resident of one of the most notorious tower blocks in Southend.

It is about time that Essex police and South Essex homes took responsibility to eradicate drug dealing and use in these tower blocks. Many people who reside in these tower blocks Are law-abiding citizens who maybe have families including young children or who may be people from the Bame community.

For those of you who do not know BAME Stands for black and ethnic minorities groups.

The people who live in these tower blocks want to live in somewhere that is secure and safe for them and their families.

This means that collectively we want Essex police and South Essex homes to step up to the plate and combat the drug dealing and use in our blocks. We want a safe secure property to live in, to bring our families up in, And to have a community vibe.

To do this South Essex homes needs to back up their ideas and provide 24 hour on site security concierge service and to do that with immediate effect.

They receive a huge chunk of government money every year to provide safe secure housing to the tenants. Let’s make them put their money where their mouth is and get them to give us the safety and security that we so deserve.

As for the police they need to take a more proactive approach to dealing with antisocial behaviour and crime on these estates So we require the police to provide uniformed high visibility patrols where necessary and especially at night. Get the officers out of their cars and on foot inside the blocks.

We can do this people, collectively we are strong and we can fight to get the results that we so deserve and need.
