According to the Detroit Free Press and CBS News, Michigan Auto Insurance is 136% more expensive then the national average. Michigan has the highest auto insurance price in the U.S... The price in Wayne County is 46% more than any other county in the state of Michigan. This is due the price of insurance being too much and many people can't afford it. With nearly half of Wayne County not having any car insurance, the insurance companies have to pay a fee to the state on each driver even the ones not insured. The fees are then passed down to the client. Not only that, because Michigan drivers have to get auto insurance. The insurance companies in Michigan are making a huge profit. In order for people to get auto insurance, the state of Michigan has to lower the auto insurance price for people.       Wayne County is not the only county in Michigan with very expensive auto insurance, other counties are right behind. A few weeks back, I tried to get an insurance quotes and the quotes I got were in the thousands. Auto Insurance should be more affordable. Other states, near us such as Ohio and Indiana don't even pay half as much as we do.
