I reach out to you with a deeply concerning issue affecting the safety and trust of our local healthcare system at Southend Hospital, specifically within the Gynaecology Department. Dr. Ali Shokouh-Amiri, a gynaecologist here, has undeniably breached his professional conduct. He was proved by the medical board to have sexually abused female patients, yet shockingly was deemed ‘fit to practice’. His actions have been detrimental, even leading to a case where a young 17-year-old girl's ovaries were removed without consent.

The General Medical Council (GMC) states that as healthcare professionals, doctors are expected to receive informed consent from the patient before starting treatment or physical investigation, or providing personal care. Dr. Shokouh-Amiri's non-consensual removal of a young girl's ovaries is a clear violation of this professional rule – causing harm not just physically, but emotionally as well.

Additionally, the GMC also mandates a doctor to protect patients from harm and abuse, another regulation Dr. Shokouh-Amiri has transgressed. It's time for us to unite against this abuse of power and demand justice for his victims. He should be stripped of his medical license, held accountable for his actions, and his name should be included in the sex offender's registry for safeguarding the community.
