As longstanding students of Lee-Scott Academy in Auburn, AL, we are challenged by the recent changes in our school's dress code. For many of us, leggings have become a crucial part of our everyday wear due to the comfort and affordability they offer.

Throughout our time, some of us spanning over six years, we have comfortably adapted to wearing leggings or pants of a similar nature. This flexibility in our dress code has allowed us to focus on our learning, without the constant burden and worry about what we wear. However, with the current regulations, we have to deal with the financial strain and inconvenience of adhering to a jeans-only policy. This not only hampers our comfort but also imposes unnecessary stress on our families, who are forced to deal with the additional financial aspects of our clothing.

By allowing the use of leggings, Lee-Scott Academy will provide an environment where students can express themselves while maintaining comfort and focus on their academic pursuits. It is essential that school policies prioritize a student's learning and well-being above all else.
