The Issue

I've had it too many times where parcels I eagerly awaited just never showed up. At first, I thought it was a fluke, just bad luck. But then it kept happening over and over again. The common factor? Evri was the courier. I'm sure I'm not alone in this—how many times have you found yourself tracking a package, only for it to vanish into thin air?

Evri, formerly known as Hermes, has had a long record of poor service and lost packages. A 2022 survey by which.co.uk ranked them as one of the worst couriers, with a significant number of customers reporting issues with missing parcels and poor customer service. Furthermore, Evri was investigated by various consumer rights groups for their consistent failures in fulfilling delivery promises.

Every "missing" parcel isn't just an inconvenience—it's a lost birthday gift, a needed tool for work, or a precious piece of clothing. For some small businesses, these losses can equate to customer dissatisfaction and financial loss. This pattern of service failure is unacceptable, and it's time we hold Evri accountable for their consistent lapses.

The Courier Regulation Authority needs to step in and ensure that firms entrusted with our goods maintain a basic standard of reliability and care. Evri’s license should be reviewed and potentially revoked if they continue to fall short of these necessary standards.

I urge everyone who has experienced similar issues to raise their voices and demand action. Let's ensure that no one else has to face the frustration of a vanished parcel.
