Revoke Elizabeth O’Connor’s Law License and University of Nebraska Regent Role

The Issue

On May 21, 2025, at approximately 8:33 p.m., an incident occurred that could have been tragically fatal. Elizabeth Rose O’Connor, serving as a University of Nebraska Regent and Deputy Douglas County Attorney, drove her 2024 Subaru Outback east on Blondo Street. In a split second decision that endangered lives, she crossed into the oncoming lanes and collided with a 2013 Ford Focus at the intersection of N 63rd and Blondo Streets.

Inside the Ford Focus were five passengers, including three innocent children. The consequence of this reckless act was devastating. The front passenger of the Ford Focus sustained a broken back and pelvis, while both vehicles were declared totaled. All individuals involved sustained injuries, turning what should have been a regular evening into a night of chaos and distress.

The gravity of this situation doesn’t end there. Elizabeth O’Connor’s blood alcohol content (BAC) was measured at 0.321%, a staggering four times the legal limit. To exacerbate the irresponsibility displayed, police discovered a half-empty open container in her vehicle.

This incident raises significant concerns about Elizabeth O’Connor’s professional judgment and her ability to continue serving the public in legal and educational capacities. As a trusted figure in the community, holding positions such as a UNL Regent and a Deputy County Attorney, she is expected to uphold the highest standards of conduct. However, her actions on that fateful day stand in stark contrast to these expectations.

We cannot ignore the potential implications of her decisions and their impact on public trust and safety. Therefore, it is imperative to revoke Elizabeth O’Connor’s law license and remove her from her position on the University of NebraskaBoard of Regents. These actions will not only hold her accountable but also serve as a firm reminder that such behavior is unacceptable for someone in her position.

By signing this petition, you can help ensure that justice is served and that the integrity of these positions is maintained. Please sign and support the call for immediate action against Elizabeth O’Connor, in the interest of public safety and trust.
