We, the undersigned members of the Lake County community and beyond, are demanding immediate action to ensure that the individual accused in the deadly hit-and-run that took Ashley Renae Tyer’s life — Brandon Charles Lewis — remains in custody.

Ashley was not just a victim — she was a daughter, a friend, family, and a light in our community. Her life mattered, and her loss has devastated everyone who knew and loved her.

Despite the seriousness of this case, a $500,000 bond has been set.

We believe this decision does not reflect the severity of the crime or the risk to public safety.
Based on the circumstances, there is strong concern that Brandon Lewis is:

Granting bond in this case sends the wrong message — that a life can be taken without serious consequence. We cannot allow that.

We are calling on the State Attorney’s Office – Fifth Judicial Circuit (Lake County) to:

👉 Revoke or deny bond immediately

👉 Ensure Brandon Charles Gregory Lewis remains in custody until trial
