Growing up, I was lucky enough to witness some of the most exciting games of women's basketball through the Houston Comets. This team wasn't just part of the legendary Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA); they were central to its very inception. Many of the most inspiring WNBA legends graced this team with their skills, ones who won MVP titles and led the team to multiple championships.

With the Houston Comets, we witnessed the formation of a team that brought passion and skill to court. Thanks to them, the city of Houston basked in the glory of four consecutive championships from 1997-2000, an accomplishment unmatched in WNBA's history.

However, in 2008, The Comets, this once shining star of women's basketball, were unfortunately disbanded due to financial struggles. The loss left a void in our hearts and in the amazing world of women's basketball which thus far remains unfilled.

We aim to resuscitate the energy, nostalgia, and excitement that the Houston Comets brought to us. This petition seeks to rally support from fans, residents, past players, and sports enthusiasts around the world to bring back the Houston Comets group to the WNBA.

It's not just about the game; it's about the legacy, passion, and the powerful sense of community instilled by the Houston Comets. It's about reigniting the flame of the Comets once again, to inspire new generations, to pay tribute to the legends, and to uplift the spirit of women's sports.
