The first Penguin Point location was opened in 1950 by Wallace and Mary Stouder. For 73 years it was a staple of Northern Indiana. Penguin Point became headquartered in Warsaw, Indiana and for many decades was the go-to place for food in the city. This decade Penguin Point was bought out by a sort of Texan hedge fund company called US Asset. In 2023 Penguin Point was no more.

Though I do not expect Penguin Point to become a national phenomenon, I do want one location of Penguin Point to return to the city that was at the heart of the quality food chain--Warsaw. Perhaps if that day ever does come Penguin Point can be expanded across the state, maybe even across America, but all that I truly want in this moment is for the people of Northern Indiana and the Midwest as a whole to be able to proudly say that Penguin Point does indeed exist.
