The Issue

As a clinician with almost 30 years of experience treating patients with sepsis, I have devoted the past decade to researching metabolic dysregulation in sepsis. Despite numerous breakthroughs in medicine and healthcare, sepsis remains the leading cause of death among hospitalized patients worldwide. The heartbreaking reality is that, until significant revisions are made to the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) Sepsis Bundle - revisions that address its major failures - we will continue to see devastatingly high mortality rates from this condition.

The current CMS Sepsis Bundle, unfortunately, is rooted in flawed and outdated literature. It has two major gaps: it disregards the complex and unique metabolic states of each patient, and it does not encourage individualized, patient-specific treatments. These gaps have not only resulted in the inefficient utilization of our healthcare resources but more importantly, in lives lost that could have been saved.

Revamping the Sepsis Bundle enforced by CMS isn't just a want - it's a desperate need. It's a step forward towards the betterment of our medical system, towards a medical approach where one size doesn't fit all, towards improved survival rates for sepsis patients. Sign this petition to urge CMS to revise the current flawed and outdated Sepsis Bundle. Your support could save countless lives.
