The Issue

We believe that every Girl Scout should be fairly acknowledged for her tireless efforts and contributions. Regrettably, the current reward structure provided by the Girl Scouts of Colorado Council may not fully recognize the hardworking young scouts equitably. The discrepancy becomes significant when comparing the reward systems of councils in similar regions.

In contrast, other councils (with both affluent and low income demographics) have different reward structures. These cookies are sold at the same price point as Colorado. For example:

Historic Georgia Council: Girls that sell 2000+ pkgs earn a Chromebook or a week at summer camp.
Orange County Council: Girls that sell 2000+ pkgs earn a 3D printer or $100 cookie dough. Additionally, all super sellers (1000+ pkgs) get recognized at an event at the House of Blues.
Colorado Council: Girls that sell 2000+ pkgs earn a 20% camp discount, a duffle bag and a toothbrush set.

We believe that revising the existing reward structure would not only offer equal recognition but also nurtures our young girls into becoming budding entrepreneurs. We are calling upon the Girl Scouts of Colorado Council to review and adjust the reward system, aligning it with those of other councils in comparable regions.

This change could enrich the scouting experience for our members and substantially provide crucial support to their rise as young entrepreneurs. We are asking everyone to sign this petition and stand with us in turning this potential into a reality. It's time to reward our young scouts with the recognition they rightfully deserve.
