Clark Craft Products has been a cherished part of the Ramsbottom community for many years. As an independent craft shop, we pride ourselves on not only providing quality materials and services but also contributing to the vibrant, local aesthetic of our beloved town.

Recently, we sought planning permission from Bury Council to install bay windows at the front of our shop. Our vision was to enhance the storefront, creating a more inviting and visually appealing presence that would attract residents and visitors alike. Bay windows would not only serve as a beautiful architectural addition but also increase the natural light within our showroom, improving the shopping experience for our customers and allowing window applaud to help promote new products/ ideas.

Unfortunately, Bury Council declined our application, citing concerns that the bay windows would not blend with the area’s existing look. However, we and many members of the community respectfully disagree with this assessment. Ramsbottom is a dynamic town characterized by its blend of historical and contemporary styles. Many other properties in the area have been updated over the years to include similar features, demonstrating that such developments are indeed in keeping with the essence of our town.

This refusal limits our ability to maintain and grow our small business amidst challenging economic times. It also potentially discourages other local businesses from pursuing improvements that could enhance the overall community landscape. With community support, we believe Bury Council should reassess their decision, taking into account the collective desire for progress and aesthetic revitalization.
