Residents of the Brent HW parking zone are increasingly burdened by a significant parking challenge. Our catchment area, among the largest locally, faces a daily influx of vehicles from residents with parking permits within the zone that live further away from the station. Many drivers park their cars on our residential streets:  Furness Road, Palermo Road, Odessa Road and Rucklidge Avenue, as they commute to Willesden Junction. This pattern of behavior has led to a shortage of available parking slots for the residents who actually reside in these streets.

It's crucial to highlight that the current parking codes may need a reassessment to prioritize residents. There is a pressing need to evaluate the balance of parking spaces against the number of parking permits issued. An audit of available parking spots vis-a-vis permits is overdue. This could help identify possible discrepancies and lead to actionable solutions that alleviate the parking woes.

Addressing this issue can significantly enhance the quality of life for residents, ensuring that they aren't left struggling to find parking each day. By adjusting the parking code zone to reflect a smaller area and performing a thorough audit, Brent Council can help ensure equitable parking access for its residents.
