The Issue

Every day in India, innocent animals—especially stray dogs—are subjected to brutal cruelty, neglect, poisoning, and violence. These voiceless beings suffer silently while weak laws allow offenders to escape with minimal punishment.

As concerned citizens and animal lovers, we cannot ignore this growing crisis.

Under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, offenders often face extremely low penalties—sometimes as little as ₹50. Such outdated punishments fail to act as a deterrent, enabling repeated abuse and increasing cases of animal cruelty across India.

The Reality We Cannot Ignore
Rising cases of animal cruelty in India
Increasing incidents of stray dog abuse and poisoning
Lack of strict enforcement by local authorities and police
No fear of punishment among offenders
This is not just an animal issue—it reflects our society’s compassion, law enforcement strength, and moral responsibility.

What We Demand
We urge the Government of India and concerned authorities to:

✔️ Amend the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act with strict punishments
✔️ Increase fines to ₹50,000+ and imprisonment for serious offenses
✔️ Make animal cruelty a non-bailable offense in severe cases
✔️ Ensure mandatory FIR registration for cruelty complaints
✔️ Establish fast-track courts for animal abuse cases
✔️ Strengthen Animal Welfare Boards and enforcement agencies

Why This Matters
Stronger laws will:

Create fear among offenders
Reduce cruelty cases significantly
Protect stray animals and pets
Build a more compassionate and responsible society
Countries with stricter animal protection laws have seen a major drop in abuse cases. India must not lag behind.

Awareness is Key
We also call for:

Animal welfare education in schools
Public awareness campaigns through media
Community involvement in protecting stray animals

Take Action Now
Animals cannot speak—but we can speak for them.

If you believe in justice, compassion, and protecting the voiceless, sign this petition today and demand immediate legal reform.

Together, we can end animal cruelty in India.
