For generations, Weoley Castle Library has been a cornerstone of our community. It's not just a place for all books; it's a hub for IT services, support, warmth and social interaction for every age, offering a place to study & read, whilst also offering a routine for people & access to local history & group activities.

The friendly faces at the library have always been there for us - offering knowledge, solace and companionship in all times of need.

Having this local facility, allows everyone to access it without having to travel all the way into Birmingham & beyond. 

To close this beloved institution is more than just shutting down a building; it's ripping out the heart of our community! Breaking the link in history & limiting support & services for the present & future people.

Public Libraries like ours are essential public spaces that offer free access to knowledge and resources that many cannot afford otherwise. According to data from the American Library Association (ALA), libraries across the nation provide critical resources to millions of people, with 90% offering digital literacy training programs.

We urge & plead with those in power, not only to consider these facts but to also listen to our voices as we stand united against this decision.
