The Issue

Hi there we are Jamie and Jason, we love visiting Alton Towers Resort at least a few times a year. Whenever we go we always use the RAP (Ride Access Pass) every time we go to visit, this pass insures us to use the non-ambulant queuing system in order for us to have a great day as one of us is neurodivergent and struggle with crowded spaces and confrontations. We have been using this for many many years without any problems as do many others who use this pass.

On the 2nd February 2026, we received an email that Merlin Entertainments has changed their policy for their eligibility for the ride access pass with no prior notice. We now have to re-apply through a 3rd party called Nimbus who issue “access cards” in order to then get RAP at any Merlin theme parks. Unfortunately Merlin have decided to remove t”difficulty with crowds” element for eligibility and only require:….

(1) Difficulty Standing, (2) Level Access and (3) Urgent Toilet Needs…..

This implies that anybody with a non-physical disability is no longer entitled to a Ride Access Pass.

THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE AND DISCRIMINATION!!!

Not only has this now ruined a day out for us but it has also now ruined a day out for hundreds, if not, thousands of guests with a hidden disability.

It has now unfortunately left us all in limbo and not knowing what to do all because of Merlin Entertainment’s discrimination.

We have now made this petition to hopefully Merlin Entertainment realise that they have discriminated and let loads of people down and we hope by doing this Merlin will reconsider and change their decision to allow neurodivergent guests into their parks with no issues!

Please sign and help us fight this!!
