7/29/26 Update

Dear All,

Quick update and a big thank you to everyone for the support. We passed the 2,000-signature mark overnight.

Yesterday (July 28) I spoke about this at the School Board meeting, so all board members are now aware of the petition. I specifically asked whether the Board could:

• Share the empirical data and community consultations that informed the decision to change the dress code; and
• Rescind the changes outright  ... or, if that is not possible, place a moratorium on them until the community has had a proper opportunity to discuss the issue.

Separately, one of you kindly connected me with Divya Kumar at the Tampa Bay Times, who has been covering the dress-code changes.

Fingers crossed we receive a constructive response from HCPS before the start of the school year.
