The Issue

I'm reaching out to you with a heavy heart, as I fight for my dear friend and colleague, Vala, who has dedicated many years  working with some of our most challenging students at our Special School. Her tireless efforts have not only brought light and learning to these students' lives but have also significantly benefited our community.
Vala was on the brink of completing her final year of her degree to become a qualified teacher, dreams built over years of unwavering commitment and personal sacrifice. However, in a decision that has stunned and saddened us all, the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council has rejected her application to extend her work sponsorship. This decision threatens to tear her away from the students and school she loves.
Vala's journey with our school community has not only enriched the lives of the children she has worked with but has also shown remarkable academic and emotional progress in the students under her care. The benefits of her presence are evident—she has fostered an environment of kindness and skill-building that can rarely be matched.
This situation is not just about one person; it represents a broader issue of retaining high-quality educators who make a significant difference in the educational landscape. Our special needs schools thrive on passionate and dedicated staff like Vala, whose personal investment in their roles goes far beyond a nine-to-five job.
We are appealing to BCP Council to reverse their decision and grant Vala the work sponsorship she deserves. With this small but significant change, Vala will be able to complete her degree, continue her valuable work, and realize her dream of becoming a teacher dedicated to serving students with special needs.
Please help us keep Vala in her deserving role, where she can continue to make a transformative impact on the lives of students who need her most. Please sign this petition to show your support for Vala and those dedicated professionals like her, who play a crucial role in the development and success of educational institutions catering to special needs students. Together, we can convey to the BCP Council the importance of their decision and the invaluable contribution Vala makes to our community.
