Say No to Animal Abuse! Reveal the investigation results of the TAR cat abuse case immediately!
We, the undersigned TARUMT students and Malaysian citizens, urge the university administration and the police to promptly disclose the investigation findings regarding the cat abuse case at TARUMT.
On 30 November 2024, TARUMT stated the cat abuse incident on campus, stating that a police report had been filed. The police also confirmed that the case is being investigated under Section 428 of the Penal Code (mischief by killing or maiming animals).
Regrettably, more than a month has passed, yet there has been no update on the investigation. Neither the university administration nor the police have released any findings, and no one has been held criminally accountable for the incident. This lack of progress has caused students to lose confidence in campus safety. Both students and the public are eager for transparent and detailed updates on the investigation.
We call on the university and the police to disclose the findings without further delay and to bring the perpetrator to justice. Justice must be served as a nation governed by the rule of law. The university and the police must recognize the significance of this case, respect the public’s right to know, respond promptly to public concerns, restore students' confidence in campus safety, and uphold public trust in the legal system.

Kami, pelajar TARUMT dan warganegara Malaysia yang bertandatangan di bawah, menggesa pihak universiti dan polis untuk segera mendedahkan hasil siasatan mengenai kes penderaan kucing di TARUMT.
Pada 30 November 2024, TARUMT mengeluarkan kenyataan mengenai insiden penderaan kucing yang berlaku di kampus, menyatakan bahawa laporan polis telah dibuat. Polis juga mengesahkan bahawa kes ini sedang disiasat di bawah Seksyen 428 Kanun Keseksaan (khianat dengan membunuh atau mencacatkan haiwan).
Namun, amat dikesali bahawa lebih daripada sebulan telah berlalu tetapi tiada sebarang perkembangan mengenai siasatan. Pihak universiti mahupun polis tidak mengeluarkan sebarang hasil siasatan dan tiada sesiapa yang dipertanggungjawabkan secara jenayah atas kejadian tersebut. Kekurangan maklumat perkembangan mengenai kes ini menyebabkan pelajar hilang keyakinan terhadap keselamatan di kampus. Para pelajar dan masyarakat umum amat mendesak untuk mendapatkan maklumat yang telus dan terperinci mengenai siasatan ini.
Kami menyeru pihak universiti dan polis untuk segera mendedahkan hasil siasatan tanpa berlengah dan membawa pelaku ke muka pengadilan. Sebagai sebuah negara yang berpegang kepada kedaulatan undang-undang, keadilan mesti ditegakkan. Pihak universiti dan polis perlu menyedari kepentingan kes ini, menghormati hak masyarakat untuk mengetahui tentang kebenaran kes ini.Pihak berkuasa dan pihak pentadbir TARUMT perlu memberi maklum balas segera terhadap kebimbangan awam, mengembalikan keyakinan pelajar terhadap keselamatan kampus,serta memastikan kepercayaan masyarakat terhadap sistem perundangan tetap terpelihara.

我们，以下联署的拉曼理工大学学生和马来西亚公民，促请校方和警方马上公布拉曼虐猫案件的调查结果。
2024年11月30日，拉曼理工大学(TARUMT)针对校园内发生的虐猫事件发布声明，表示已报警处理，警方也援引刑事法典第428条文（杀死或残害任何动物）调查此案。
令人遗憾的是，一个多月过去了，事件的调查结果依然杳无音讯，校方和警方都还未公布任何调查结果，也没有任何人对此事负起刑事责任，让学生们对校园安全逐渐失去了信心。学生和公众都迫切希望能够得到透明，详细的调查进展。
我们呼吁校方和警方需尽快公开调查结果，并将嫌犯绳之于法，马来西亚作为法治社会，正义的实现不能缺席。校方与警方应意识到此事的重要性，尊重公众的知情权，及时回应公众的关切，恢复学生对校园安全的信任，维护公众对法治的信心。
