My life has been turned upside down. My son, who has never known abuse or neglect, was taken from me wrongfully by Child Protective Services (CPS) in Waxahachie, TX. This action was based on lies and has caused unimaginable pain and suffering to both me and my child.  Even after I’ve provided a substantial amount of hard evidence against their lies, completed services, and have done everything by the book, I find myself facing criminal charges,and I haven’t seen my son in over two months.

CPS was established to protect children from real harm, not to tear apart loving families on the basis of false claims. My child's welfare and happiness have always been my top priority. I am not alone in this; many families have experienced wrongful removals and suffer from the same kind of distress and injustice.

It's imperative that CPS procedures are transparent and accountable. When mistakes are made, there should be an immediate review process to return children to their rightful homes. We propose that an independent body be set up to investigate claims of wrongful removal and ensure that CPS reports are accurate and fair. This would not only help reunite families more quickly but also restore trust in the system meant to protect our children.

Research shows that children who are wrongfully removed can suffer long-term emotional and psychological effects. According to a 2019 study by the American Psychological Association, disruptions in family life due to unwarranted removals can lead to attachment issues and increased levels of anxiety and depression in children.

We need to stand together to demand that CPS in Waxahachie, and indeed across the nation, practices integrity and fairness. Let's advocate for the creation of a task force dedicated to reviewing family cases and implementing checks and balances.
