Father Omar (Boulous) El Koussa came to the United States in July 2023 via B1 visa to serve as an assistant priest in the Antiochian Orthodox Church, with the assumption that his wife & children would shortly follow him to the States. In January 2024, he converted it to a R1 Visa. However, until now, Father Boulous' wife, Elsy Moussa, and three sons, Georges El Koussa (11 yo), Michel El Koussa (10 yo) & Marc El Koussa (6 yo), have been denied entrance to the United States. Father Boulous applied for R2 Visas for his family two separate times. The first time, his family was refused. And now after the second time, they entered into the administrative processing, but there still has been absolutely no progress in their application status.
Over this last year, Father Boulous has become an invaluable & beloved member of the clergy at Sts. Constantine & Helen Antiochian Orthodox Church in Carrollton, TX. With his ability to speak both English and Arabic fluently, he is able to provide pastoral care for Arab Americans in our parish in their native language. Our church is very diverse, and he has dedicated his time and skills to all members from every background. Additionally, he teaches Arabic lessons to both young & old. He is a vital part of our community, and an asset not only to our parish, but also those in the metroplex who benefit greatly from his impressive background and knowledge.
It has been well over a year since this loving & honest family have been together, despite their efforts to take the appropriate legal steps toward reunion. Imagine, a father missing over a year of precious time with his children. We can no longer stand idle as his family is left with no answers or assistance in this upsetting situation. Please, we as a community urge you to help this family be reunited once again.
