Returning Human Remains - Trinity College Dublin to Inishbofin, County Galway, Ireland

The Issue

Please help support the community of Inishbofin, County Galway and their descendants in requesting that Trinity College Dublin return all human remains, including 13 crania stolen by British anthropologist Alfred Cort Haddon and Andrew Francis Dixon in 1890 from St. Colman’s Cemetery, Inishbofin, Ireland. The theft, admitted to by Haddon in his diary negates any claims by Trinity College (eg. educational benefits, carbon dating reports) to retain them due to the criminal nature of how these remains came into the possession of Trinity College in the first place. Trinity is scheduled to make a decision in mid-December, 2022. No further evidence is needed. They must be returned to their community of origin.
