A message to all supporters, the South & West Gippsland Transport Group will be holding a meeting on Tuesday the 24th of November, 2015 at the Austral Hotel, 34 Bridge St, Korumburra VIC 3950 upstairs between 7pm and 9pm. Anyone interested in attending is welcome to visit during this meeting and can contact us through our Facebook page if there are any inquiries. The agenda for the meeting includes: 1. Action for the 'Return of the Leongatha to Melbourne Passenger Trains on the South Gippsland Rail Corridor' petition initiated on Change.org. 2. Submissions made to Public Transport Victoria's Regional Network Development Plan. 3. Proposed Monash Freeway Upgrade. 4. Group Strategy & Objectives: Such as gaining a commitment towards delivering an integrated transport plan and revised study regarding the reintroduction of rail services to Leongatha. 5. To garner support for these objectives through political and public transport action groups and organisations. 6. To promote the plan trough media and direct action. 7. Presentation to South Gippsland Council on integrated transport plan. 8. Open discussions. 9. Making arrangements and scheduling a date and time for the next South & West Gippsland Transport Group meeting. It is advocating the return of rail services to Leongatha, to establish a rail loop between Cranbourne and Pakenham and to improve bus services between towns and Melbourne”.
