Like many others, I am deeply inspired by UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese. Her moral compass is one that we should all aspire to emulate. Regrettably, there is a current initiative led by UN Watch that aims to dismiss her from her position, an action that I firmly believe should be opposed. 

Francesca Albanese's contribution to the United Nations is undeniable. Her expert knowledge and relentless determination to champion human rights in the OPT are invaluable assets to the organization. According to the OHCHR, Special Rapporteurs like Francesca Albanese play a crucial role in examining, monitoring, advising, and publicly reporting on human rights situations in specific countries or on major thematic issues worldwide in her human rights advocacy, she models an ethic of service that we should all strive towards.

Given this, losing her expertise and leadership would not only affect the UN but also areas and individuals around the world that rely on her advocacy. Therefore, we humbly call upon the UN to reject any attempts to dismiss Francesca Albanese from her role. She has proven to be an asset that promotes the core values of the organization and she deserves to maintain her current position. We encourage all supporters of human rights and those who believe in the need for moral leadership in our world to sign this petition. Together, we can voice our unwavering support for Francesca Albanese and ensure her continued service in the United Nations.
