I am a passionate supporter of women's basketball and a proud resident of San Antonio, Texas. In 2017, our city lost its beloved WNBA franchise, the San Antonio Silver Stars/San Antonio Stars to Las Vegas. This was not just a loss for sports fans; it was a blow to female empowerment and role models for young girls in our community.

The WNBA is more than just an entertainment outlet; it is an institution that promotes gender equality and provides inspiration for young girls. The presence of the Silver Stars in our city allowed young women to see successful athletes who looked like them, fostering dreams and ambitions beyond traditional roles.

San Antonio has always been a strong supporter of the WNBA. During their time here, the Silver Stars had some of the highest attendance rates in the league (source: WNBA). Their departure left a void that no other sport can fill.

By bringing back our team, we would be sending out an important message about valuing women's sports equally with men's. It would also provide much-needed opportunities for local businesses who benefited from game-related revenue.

It is time to bring back the "W" to San Antonio! Let us stand together as one community demanding equal representation and opportunity in sports by resurrecting our beloved team - The San Antonio Silver Stars/San Antonio Stars!
