Short-term rentals, such as those offered through Airbnb and Vrbo, are gaining traction here in Silverlake. Our community and HOA must ensure a good quality of life for our residents. Short-term rentals create constant disruption due to noise, parking issues, and the transient nature of the renters. By prohibiting such rentals, we'll retain the sense of community, limit the disturbances to residents, and secure the safety of families. We need 67% of Silverlake homeowners to agree to make a change to the bylaws. Therefore, we call for a revision of the Silverlake HOA bylaws to forbid short-term rentals.
