Petition to Remove Judge Beverly Cannone from the Karen Read Trial

We, the people, are calling for the removal of Judge Beverly Cannone from the ongoing Karen Read trial due to clear and troubling instances of judicial bias and conduct that compromise the fairness of the proceedings. Throughout the trial, Judge Cannone has consistently displayed partiality towards the prosecution, jeopardizing Karen Read's right to a fair trial. Left unchecked, these issues can lead to wrongful convictions, marginalization of vulnerable communities, civil unrest, and the normalization of corruption.

There are been an alarming amount of instances of bias and misconduct including but not limited to the following; 

1. Favoritism towards Prosecution

• Judge Cannone has made several rulings that disproportionately favor the prosecution's arguments while disregarding the defense's motions that are critical to ensuring a balanced trial. Her courtroom decisions have repeatedly sided with the prosecution, despite substantial evidence suggesting otherwise.

2. Conflicts of Interest

• There are well-supported allegations of conflicts of interest involving Judge Cannone. The defense has presented evidence, including Venmo transactions and text messages that suggest her involvement with parties who have a vested interest in the trial outcome. Despite this, Judge Cannone refused to recuse herself when requested by the defense, further questioning her impartiality.  When a judge is asked to recuse themselves from a trial, it's in good faith the judge should do so.  Recusing oneself helps keep the public's faith in the justice system. 

3. Ignoring Evidence of Alternative Theories

• In an alarming display of judicial bias, Judge Cannone has actively disregarded compelling defense evidence pointing to alternate theories of the crime, effectively shielding the narrative presented by the prosecution with questionable merit. Such actions prevent critical examination and integrity of the judicial process.

Restoring Faith in the Justice System

Removing Judge Cannone from this trial is not just about granting a fair trial to Karen Read; it underscores a broader need to restore public faith in our justice system. When judges fail to uphold the principles of impartiality and justice, it reflects systemic corruption that must be addressed to retain the integrity and credibility of our legal institutions.

A Call to Action

The conduct exhibited in this case epitomizes corruption within our legal system, and as concerned members of the public, it is imperative we act. Removing Judge Cannone will demonstrate a commitment to justice and integrity, sending a strong message that bias and corruption have no place in our courts.

If we allow Judge Cannone to continue to rule over these proceedings, an innocent women could be sentenced to prison for the rest of her life. That is not justice.
