In the gymnastics gym at Brown University, there was a wall filled with the names of everyone who had ever been part of the Brown Gymnastics program. The legacy wall began in 2004, and since that time gymnasts, coaches, and staff have added their names, their years with the program, and their hometowns to show the record of our team's history. This wall was created and maintained by the individuals within our program and showed a tapestry of handwriting from generations of the team.

On Friday, September 11, the wall was repainted with no warning. This was a decision from somewhere in the University to give the program a new start. About 250 women's names were erased, including the signature of our founding head coach - Jackie Court - who passed away in 2020.  

We don't just want our legacy restored. We want a say in how that happens.
