Restore WCBS NewsRadio 88 as a Vital Source of Information for the People

Restore WCBS NewsRadio 88 as a Vital Source of Information for the People
The Issue
For more than half a century, Growing up in the heart of New York City, with the voices of WCBS news radio 88 shaping our world, this station was more than just a news source. In addition, the CBS radio network for 100 years was a part of New York's pulse as well. These two together, were a marriage made in heaven, it was more than that, It was an institution, covering not just New York City but also New Jersey, Connecticut, and much beyond. Unveiling stories beyond the headlines, WCBS gave us compelling, in-depth analysis of the world, urging us to pay close attention to the events shaping our lives.
But sadly, because of corporations trying to downsize the news being not important, on August 26th at 12:01 a.m., WCBS news radio 88 ceased operations and for New Yorkers and for all around the country, it was like losing a great friend and a member of the family and a part of our livelihood.
As a person who is inspired to be a journalist, and as a future radio reporter or whatever, WCBS wasn't just information; it was insight, delivered by dedicated reporters whose voices on the microphones made the news intimate, personal and relevant. Especially during these critical times of electoral decision-making processes, WCBS should be serving as a vital source for information - illuminating, educating, inspiring. But that, sadly, is no longer the case.
We call upon relevant authorities to restore WCBS news radio 88 and the CBS radio Network, to its former stature, to continue supporting needs of informed citizenship. This is crucial not just for the people of the nation, but for people all around the world who rely on quality news delivered the way they want it. It is critical for us. It is critical for our nation. It is critical for the world.
Please, sign this petition to bring back our beloved WCBS news radio 88. Every signature matters, and together, we can get back the news we love and trust.
