Restore Trail Funding Before It’s Too Late!

Restore Trail Funding Before It’s Too Late!
The Issue
The Pacific Crest Trail and Appalachian Trail are more than paths through the wilderness—they’re places of peace, healing, and inspiration. But now, because of massive federal funding cuts, these beloved trails are falling apart right in front of us.
Storms have already torn through miles of wilderness, leaving behind washed-out paths and dangerous conditions. Entire sections of trail have been left impassable.
The seasonal crews who normally clear fallen trees, rebuild bridges, and protect these fragile ecosystems have been laid off. And plans to restore the damage in 2025 have been scrapped altogether.
These trails are national treasures. They support local economies, protect the environment, and offer a deep connection to nature. Losing them would be a loss for all of us.
We’re calling on federal leaders to immediately restore the funding needed to repair and protect our trails. The longer we wait, the more we risk losing something we can never replace.
