Restore the Trumper Pavilion at Chatswood Oval for sporting use

Restore the Trumper Pavilion at Chatswood Oval for sporting use
The issue
Gordon District Cricket Club and Gordon Rugby Club have been part of the local community for well over 100 years, and for all of this time the home ground for both Club's has been Chatswood Oval.
Gordon District Cricket Club played an instrumental part in the original construction of the Trumper Pavilion, contributing both resources and funding. Recognising its association with cricket, the Pavilion is named after Victor Trumper, one of Australia’s most famous cricketers and a former member of the Gordon District Cricket Club.
In recent years the Trumper Pavilion has also been used to operate an OOSH facility, which has made things difficult for the traditional sporting users of the pavilion.
OOSH use of the Pavilion clashes with practice times for both cricket & rugby. In these cross over hours our players cannot access the pavilion or change rooms. For our female players this means there is no access to toilet facilities on training days. The cross over hours can also be dangerous for children who sometimes go on the Oval.
Willoughby Council has announced it is closing the OOSH facility at Chatswood Oval as the facility is no longer suitable for such a use and the need can be facilitated at Chatswood Public School, which has a fit for purpose facility with the required capacity to accommodate users of the Chatswood Oval OOSH. With the cessation of the OOSH care at Trumper Pavilion, both the cricket & rugby Club's would like to see the pavilion returned to its original primary purpose as a sporting facility. This would mean the Pavilion can again be used as a “club house” and allow a display of sporting memorabilia and history. These form the basis of a club’s "spiritual home". It is also a way of displaying the sporting history of the local area.
Please support Council's decision by signing this petition in support of returning the Trumper Pavilion back to its intended use.
