The senior room at Veritas for many years has been an important piece of what makes the senior year special. It is a place for seniors to meet, to work, to unwind, and bond before graduation. It was a place that symbolizes our culmination of hard work truly an essential part of the transition for every year's graduating class.

Unfortunately, we, the current seniors, have been deprived of this tradition. We are being denied a space that signifies and acknowledges the respect and privilege given to us as seniors. The senior room was more than a room; for many of us it was an accomplishment, a way of acknowledging that we had made it through 3 years at Veritas Academy. According to a survey done at Veritas this year, 100% of the seniors polled believe the loss of the senior room has affected them negatively in one way or another during their school year. The senior room should be returned to us, the seniors of Veritas as it is unjust to have this cherished privilege taken from us.

The continuation and return of the senior room would strengthen the community within the senior year as well as have positive impacts on the school by maintaining and showing the respect due to the seniors and validating a beloved school tradition. With a designated area for seniors, the overall mood in school can be significantly elevated through positive senior experiences. We would work diligently with the administrators to create a viable solution for maintaining the benefits of a senior room without the negative impacts it has on others.
