Kingsgate Park’s playground and swings in Snyder, near Cheektowaga, were removed without any notice to residents. The nearest playground now requires children to cross a busy main road, creating a serious safety concern. We are calling on the Town of Amherst to provide a clear plan and timeline to restore a safe, accessible playground for our neighborhood families. At a recent town hall meeting, no answers were provided, save for an apology and a promise that a plan is in place, but with no substantive evidence for why now and what's next, residents are left with more questions than answers. The group of concerned citizens say that plans are in the works to continue to use the remaining space for community gatherings, and are dedicated to keeping the space in use and from being forgotten.
