For nearly fifty years, the small zoo in Logan’s Willow Park was known as Willow Park Zoo. Generations of Cache Valley families grew up visiting the zoo under that name. School field trips, family outings, and childhood memories were tied to a place that felt like a local tradition.

In 2017, the zoo was renamed Zootah. While the organization continues to care for animals and serve the community, many longtime residents still feel a strong connection to the historic name. For many in Cache Valley, the zoo will always be Willow Park Zoo. Nearly a decade after the renaming, public search data shows that “Willow Park Zoo” is still searched almost as frequently as “Zootah,” highlighting how deeply the historic name remains rooted in the community.

Names matter. They connect places to their history and to the people who grew up with them. Restoring the name Willow Park Zoo would honor the zoo’s roots and celebrate more than 50 years of community tradition.

This petition asks the leadership of Zootah and community partners to restore the historic name Willow Park Zoo.

By bringing back the historic name, we can preserve an important part of Cache Valley’s shared history while continuing to support the zoo’s mission for future generations.
