Admittedly. I’m not the most stable or qualified person. Yet. I can say out of everyone here I’ve most directly and independently addressed the core issues of Port Townsend. Are my plans perfect? No. Does my experience meet a cliff? Yes. But what have I given to the community despite?
1. An innovative, radical, and game changing housing and toxic remediation plan that would immediately save lives and legitimize, expand, and force improvement to a way of life (living on dry-dock boats) that we already have active in the port and in town history.
2. A road maintenance reduction plan that integrates tiny homes on wheels, increases population density, and turns streets into rental income.
3. A golf course concept that keeps green space on top of perimeter housing so instead of the community losing open space… more novelty is added.
4. A petition staged to change the system to strong mayor should the city manager fail to show meaningful progress. Aka, I’ve implemented a power balance between the community and the city.
5. I’ve absolutely taken the swirling undercurrent of vitriol and fear from people on social media without resorting to counter attacks.
And that’s all from your friendly international transplant.
But! Some people are far more interested in playing whack a mole than participating in change. Others are frustrated by the concept that some rando like me would even think to jump into a high position without clawing my way up through the ranks. Others simply observe, when they could flip the switch. And some come to support in the way they can, which has made all the difference to me personally.
But none of these actually support the kind of paradigm shift we need to free the visionary people in our world who have been crippled and thrown of the meat grinder of modern society.
What we need are people who will say, “Since I earned that credibility, I can now throw that weight behind the people the elites are most afraid of; the ones who were thrown out, yet always had the ability to manifest the world we all know… deep in our hearts, should be the true real world.
So enough with this real world. I need help making the true one. The one that puts human beings over capitalism, politics, fear greed, and control.
What I call for is faith in brilliance and raw leadership. What I need is for everyone that reads this to talk every single person in Port Townsend into signing this petition in any way possible.
