In January of this year, our rural local communities in both Langwith and Whitwell as well as the wider area discovered East Midland Railway’s [EMR] proposals to reduce the service offered to us by the vital Robin Hood Line.

Despite strong opposition from our local Parish Councils and local residents, EMR has decided to push ahead with its decision to reduce our service.

Residents across our local area depend on the Robin Hood Line to access vital GP services, as well as use the line as their only means of accessing college and further education and to commute to work that is simply not otherwise accessible.

We are now calling on the Secretary of State for Transport, Rt. Hon Grant Shapps MP to review the decision to reduce our service on the Robin Hood Line with the view to restoring the service and safeguarding our communities vital asset.
