First off, thank you to everyone who has supported the petition to restore responsible fishing access at Kemah Crossing Pond. We’ve now surpassed 170 supporters, and the continued response from the community has been incredible.

Over the past several weeks, we’ve heard so many stories, memories, and positive experiences connected to the pond — from parents teaching kids to fish, to neighbors simply enjoying the outdoors together. It’s clear this area means a great deal to many members of our community.

As an update, we are now moving into the next phase of the process. A formal email and petition summary are being prepared for presentation to MMD1 requesting that the matter be formally reconsidered and placed on an upcoming meeting agenda for discussion.

Our requests include:

• Reconsideration of the current prohibition on fishing at Kemah Crossing Pond
• Discussion of reasonable rules or guidelines that would allow responsible fishing access
• Collaboration between residents and MMD1 on stewardship efforts such as cleanup initiatives and responsible use of the area

Our goal continues to be constructive and community-focused. We want to work collaboratively toward a solution that preserves the pond as a positive recreational asset while also addressing any legitimate concerns regarding maintenance and property care.

Thank you again to everyone who has signed, shared, commented, and offered support. Every voice truly does help demonstrate how important this issue is to the community.
