Restore EU Citizenship Rights Lost Through Brexit for UK Expats

Restore EU Citizenship Rights Lost Through Brexit for UK Expats
The Issue
I am a UK citizen who has been living in Germany since 2004. Like many others, I moved to another European country when the UK was still an EU Member State with no indication that this would change. However, with the advent of Brexit, tens of millions of UK citizens, both in the UK and abroad, lost our EU citizenship against our will. This loss is not just symbolic; it has real-life consequences for people like me who suffer from disabilities and rely on benefits.
The uncertainty surrounding my immigration status post-Brexit is a source of constant worry and stress. The rights we enjoyed as EU citizens - freedom to live, work and access social security across the Union - have been abruptly taken away from us.
According to Eurostat data (2019), there are approximately 1.2 million British-born people residing in other EU countries who are grappling with similar issues due to Brexit-induced changes in their legal status.
This petition seeks to challenge this situation under international law and restore the rights we lost through Brexit. We call upon the UK Government, the United Nations, and European Union authorities to address this issue urgently by providing clear pathways for those affected by these changes.
Please sign this petition if you believe in justice for all those whose lives have been upended by these sudden shifts in policy without their consent or control.
